"We stayed at the holiday Inn on New Years Eve which turned out to be a great stopping off point for visiting Cumbria. The facilities and breakfast were great. We would especially like to shout out to the housekeeping staff for their honesty and integrity in handing in some personal property which we inadvertently left in our room. "Stayed at this hotel as en route to Scotland and dog friendly. Staff were friendly and helpful. The added bonus was access to pool and spa facilities which you don’t often get when travelling with a pet. Good food also."

"This was our second stay at The Tavern and we will most definitely return. The rooms are beautifully decorated and have all the amenities available. This time we stayed in the room with the amazing bath. Sadly we didn’t have chance to use it as only stayed for one night. The breakfast is wonderful and certainly set us up for the day. We had an issue on our first night but the staff did their best to deal with it. Fortunately this was resolved. Breakfast was great, excellent quality and a good selection.
