"We stayed one night as a stopover on our way home to Scotland. We had a superior double room in the lodge part of the hotel. Stunning room. Very spacious even with what looked like a super king bed. Lovely to have the little terrace space. Had a delicious meal in the restaurant and excellent breakfast in the morning. Loved the different options to normal offerings with overnight oats and yoghurt smoothies. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely dog friendly hotel which we’d love to...

"The room was a reasonable size with a king size bed and a small en suite. However, we found a large stain (possibly blood) on the corner of the mattress topper. We also found one of the windows couldn't be open due to it having parcel tape stuck over window and frame. This looked messy and botched. It was a cold room and when we went to turn the radiators on they were filthy with dust and debris in the grills!! We complained to the receptionists who immediately arranged to move us to another...

And we could do parkrun with plenty of time to get back before checkout & eat breakfast. Would love to return."

"Old Swan Hotel Marvellous - We found this hotel very charming. Upon arriving, the reception lady was very welcoming and friendly. We booked an Executive Suite - great value for money. Suite was very clean and very spacious. However, does need updating as no aircon, no USB plus sockets and furniture very dated. Dining room very beautiful, staff friendly and breakfast delicious. Beautiful lounge areas to relax in. Would I stay again - absolutely. Would I recommend - absolutely."
