"San Francisco is one of the most expensive hotel cities the world...$250 for a single night on a Sunday for Bay to Breakers. Its normally a little cheaper than on any other weekend, but not much.
But I will have to say, the premises and room were pristine and in top notch condition. Everything seemed brand new and the beds were dream to sleep upon...though I was pretty drunk by the time I got to it, so my judgement might be off. Location is perfect for a real local taste of San Francisco. Polk street and its cross streets are packed with funky bars. Van Ness has my favorite SF meaty eatery of all time: Tommy's Joynt. Though if you're a pure tourist in the city, its not the most central location of sight seeing."
"The room 308 had a comfortable bed , was clean, remodeled tastefully and quiet from street noise. The hotel is in an excellent location in the Marina district"
"We were a family of four 3 adults and 1 child age 8 1/2. We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite it had everything we needed however the twin beds were a little too small for my adult daughter and granddaughter, but being that the living room had a full size queen pullout bed it work out perfectly for them! It seemed like the staff changed quite frequently but every person we encountered was equally kind and helpful. Only one confusion, day 1 we were told we had 24 access to the breakfast area for hot and cold drinks and on day 2 the girl at the front desk stopped us and said it was closed and I said Oh, isn't it opened for hot and cold drinks for 24 hrs? She said no, some workers let it slide but they are not supposed too. I said oh okay, I wasn't I aware because of online stating the same and she also disagreed with that so I just said alrighty we can just get our drinks from upstairs no biggie and she just smiled. Only Big " Con" I have is Finding a Bottle of Fire Ball in the Dining room Buffet Drawer! Normally anyone wouldn't mind finding this...lol, but when you have a curious child and a 23 year recovering Alcoholic addict staying in that room it wasn't a pleasant surprise to have found it, but luckily it was I that was there when my husband found it and was able to encourange him to just dump it out!!!! This could have been devastating for our family, I thank the Lord it was not! I hope the maids will have better training available to them so this does not repeat itself! "
"Toilet had dried urine drops on it and sink/mirror was not wiped down. Floor was dirty and there was a gap under door that allowed bugs in - found a few spiders. The bedskirt was absolutely hideous and the chair was just as bad. Wouldn’t even put shoes on it. I get that it’s a 2 star hotel but cleanliness cannot be ignored to that extent! Throughout the night there was an intermittent, but LOUD, banging noise on the roof (like someone was nailing something); woke us up every time. Massive improvements needed to make this place worthy of 2 stars. "
"I was lucky to grab one of the only 7 parking spots when I arrived, if the lot is full, that "free parking" perk might not help you much! Because of this, I left my car parked and used a bike to get around.
The room itself was nice, clean, and well-equipped with plenty of towels in various sizes, extra pillows, a working hair dryer, and a digital safe that was easy to program. The TV remote and lights all worked, except for one bedside bulb that was burned out.
My only major issue was finding hairs on the bedsheets. Worried about bugs or pests, I did a thorough inspection with my phone flashlight. Fortunately, I didn't find anything but the hair, so I decided to ignore it and slept fine, taking a shower in the morning. On the plus side, the toilet and shower were spotless, the outside ice machine was convenient, and the cleaning staff were incredibly friendly."
