"We weren't able to check in until late due to all day travel. We got there with kids half asleep and trying to hold them plus a cart of luggage, they sent us up to a room that had not been cleaned! There was trash in the baskets, soap was opened and used, countertops dirty...and we had to pack back up the bags onto the luggage cart and haul everything with kids back downstairs! "I wish I had known about the major renovations before I booked this hotel. Construction started early in the morning so I was woken up before 8 AM every morning to some kind of beeping going on outside of my window. All ice machines are down so being on the fifth floor I had to take the elevator down every time I wanted ice and ask the front desk to fill my bucket which was a major inconvenience. "The property was unkempt and my room appeared as of something had been chewing through the wood. As soon as I landed, we changed rooms to a different property. Even though we did not stay the night, the property refused to issue a refund. Never again."

"The Russell is a cute and unique hotel. I love the stained glass windows, they really stand out. Management was so communicative and welcoming, and made sure the check-in and checkout processes were super simple. The room had everything we needed and I loved the smart tv so I could stream my movies. I would definitely stay there again and have recommended this hotel to my friends!"

"We had the honeymoon suite, which was fantastic.It was huge and appropriately decorated for the era. The grounds aren't huge, but they're very well maintained. It's in a very convenient location to pretty much anywhere around nashville. The breakfast each morning was fantastic."
