Other rooms likely more comfortable. Complimentary drink when forgoing room cleaning was a nice touch. "

"We had a brilliant stay at Melrose B&B. Our room was immaculate and had everything we needed. Staff were very helpful and parking was provided. There was plenty of choice for breakfast and the food was excellent. We would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning"

"The hotel room was lovely. Couldn’t fault it. Hotel its self is lovely. Nice chilled atmosphere. Where it lets itself down is food. Dinner on first evening was terrible. Chips hard and overcooked. Onion rings hard and dripping in fat. Mussels overcooked and way too salty. Breakfast next morning was lukewarm. "

"The door of the en suite shower would not open properly and once in the shower it was difficult to get out !! Some shower gel would have been helpful. Overall the accommodation was very nice despite the steep steps up to the property. The decor was very tasteful and extremely clean and spacious. "

The “Welcome Pack” was a great and welcome surprise which is a definite plus compared to other rentals in this area. Master bedroom had a superb en suite plus a great view of Loughrigg Brow. Everything was great and we can’t wait to return. "
