"The front desk staff member was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and tidy. One side of the bed was firm, however the other side was extremely soft and uncomfortable."

"Staff were very helpful and courteous. Carpets and curtains were dated and worn but the friendliness and helpfulness of staff was good. The hotel provided clean sheets and towels and information about local entertainment and shops. Parking was an extra cost of £9.50 for 24 hours which was good for Brighton. Would need more information about how to use shower and TV. Great location for the beach, pier and entertainment. Good value overall. "

"Very run down with no signs of trying to fix anything. Friendly enough staff, but clueless. I had to move rooms after the first night. The radiator in room 218 couldn't be turned off and it was 25 degrees. The ceiling in the bathroom has water damage from above and the plaster was cracked and falling down. The second room I was given, room 317, had more problems. The window had broken seals, so let in a lot of wind and noise from the street. I found 2 empty Absolut vodka bottles wedged...

It's a little dated and tired and could be very nice but lots of things were off - door handles loose, loo roll holder hanging off, no sockets by the bed (essential in this day and age no?) But yes brekkie was very good, plentiful and tastes good, great transport links in to the city and "

"The room was OK, but finding the hotel and finding the room within the hotel were both very difficult. They also asked for an additional card checking fee before check-in, though thankfully they waived this when we queried it. The remote check in made the start of the stay very stressful, but once we were in it was fine. There are some lovely period features in the property, but some of the paneling is actually wallpaper!"

"I think if you’re looking for an affordable place to stay and just need somewhere to sleep, it’s a great option. You can check in online and then get in when you get in, which worked very well for me. The room itself needs a little fixing up, the sink had a massive crack down the middle, the bed was broken and the whole floor seemed to slope sideways. But other than that it was a pretty nice hotel and a really affordable night. Ideal for solo travelers "

"The room was lovely spacious and clean. Decor is good. What could be improved is in bathroom there is no sanitary bags or body cream like other hotels. Also no coffee pod machine. Also a male member of staff walked into our room I assume to clean he didn’t knock and it was not passed checked out time my elderly aunt got a shock as she just come out the shower but laughed it off thinking the poor young man would have got an eye saw I didn’t complain but they should really knock before entering...

"The hotel staff were very helpful but the hotel itself was basic. The rooms are small and minimal, our bathroom smelt like sewer drains and stunk the whole room even with the windows open. The breakfast was not worth waking up for and the times were bad it should be open till 10am considering its an 11am check out. We had four rooms booked and each one was terrible, one had bird poo on the floors and the other had no toilet roll on arrival. We made do for the one night but wouldn't stay here...

"Room was decent, they had built a different type of shower to the ones in sutton ibis hotel lower quality in my opinion but worked fine. One bedside lamp was broken and they tried to fine me for it but was broken before we arrived so be sure to report any faults while you are there. Staff were polite and breakfast was standard, enjoyed it but could have nicer sausages. Would stay again "
