"This Hilton Hotel is superb! The reception desk people were so helpful. The room was beautiful with a balcony overlooking the cricket ground, which is why we booked to stay there. Beefy's restaurant on the upper ground floor of the hotel was exceptional both for dinner and breakfast. One thing we would have appreciated in our room was a small refrigerator to keep wine, water and milk cold"

"When visiting Portsmouth this properties location in between the Historic Dockyards and Gunwharf Quays meant that for our three day stay we could easily walk to all of the major attraction. The fact it has its own car park was also a plus although you could easily travel there by public transport due its close proximity to the bus and rail stations. "First of all, the room was silent, which is a huge positive. Really quiet and peaceful. The ‘king size’ bed is an insult to customers intelligence. Pushing two single beds together and calling it a king size should be criminalised. Properties like this are charging premium prices for facilities, and then providing some hashed excuse which barely ticks the boxes. The internet access is generous and works well. "The hotel is a lovely old building with a lot of nice features. Our room was on the 2nd floor and fortunately there is a tiny ancient lift that is just big enough for 2 people and a suitcase, the room was 'cosy' but big enough, the ensuite had a good shower with somewhere for your shampoo etc if you didn't want to use theirs, it could have done with a hook nearby for your towel but that's my only minor complaint. "OK pub/hotel - charming setting and building and great shower/bathroom. Wifi also fine. But my room was very small - barely enough room to walk around a single bed (and this for £110/night), bed was very uncomfortable and reception was never manned (I had to go and find staff 3 times). At 30% less price this would be fine, but at the price I paid I would not recommend."

"Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival and lovely to speak to throughout our short stay. The hotel is immaculately kept and tastefully furnished. Our room was spacious (family room with a queen bed and bunk beds for our 2 children was a dream for them) and had great amenities. Bathroom was clean and basic toiletries were supplied along with shaving and dental kits. Enjoyed our short stay and would highly recommned."

"The room was very clean and the staff went out of their way to be helpful. We stayed just one night and had to leave early before breakfast was served, but we were provided with an excellent pack up with tea. Will definitely stay there again en route to ferry crossings."
