"What an amazing little gem of a hotel. So quirky with its wonderful themed rooms. We stayed in the Saloon which was based on a room in a an old western saloon. The ensuite had the most amazing stand alone roll top bath which could have fitted 2 without any problem. There is a lounge with a small bar where you can get the most incredible choice of cocktails that I have ever seen. There are also wines beers and spirits available. This was very cozy and comfortable and we finished off our evenings there each night of our stay. The view from the hotel which is situated at the top of the cliffs overlooking both the harbour and Whitby Abbey in the distance is beautiful."

"Warm welcome on arrival, cleanliness excellent and the breakfast was to die for. Silver service breakfast at its best with really attentive and friendly waiting staff. Food was delicious with a continuous supply of tea coffee and toast if required. We had a really enjoyable stay and the breakfast set us up for the day! Private parking was a real bonus too with an easy walk into Whitby. All in all a Hotel to be recommended. Thank you Saxonville. "

"Nice big rooms and bathroom although a bit dusty room 4 rear facing also used the cups and spoons to make coffee but they was not replaced with clean ones next morning and had to wash them in the bathroom sink (not ideal )lovely breakfast staff very helpful at breakfast ,close to the center parking exspensive if you cant get round the crescent with your scratch card that cost a couple of pounds its £11 a day even tho i have moaned about a couple of miner things i would stay again as it is an ideal location."

"We had a two-night stay in the beach house. While the room itself was acceptable, on closer inspection the bathroom did not appear to be thoroughly cleaned. In general, the attention to cleanliness in the main areas of the hotel also seemed lacking. During our stay, we experienced a few maintenance issues. The hot tap in the outdoor bath leaked when in use, and in the room both the TV and lamps flickered intermittently. Although breakfast was included, I was disappointed to learn it was served at the main hotel, approximately a four-minute walk away. Unfortunately, we had to make this walk in the rain, and were only offered a buggy ride on the return journey. Finally, I feel that guests paying to stay at the hotel should have access to the spa facilities included, rather than being charged an additional £45 per person."

"The stay at Mulgrave Country Cottage was wonderful. A beautiful house and gardens, peaceful and tranquil. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the breakfast was fresh, well presented and very tasty. I would highly recommend a visit and we will definitely be returning "
