"This was a charming lodge! On the quieter part of downtown Gatlinburg, we appreciated getting out of the hustle and bustle. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was clean, and we enjoyed the experience of seeing a bear meander through the stream behind the lodge (happily viewing from the 3rd floor) from our little balcony. Check-in and check-out simple and straightforward, it was the perfect ending to our trip through the mountains."

"We had a very enjoyable stay at the Sleepy Bear. The rooms were very clean, we loved sitting on the balcony in the morning, watching the brook and sipping on our coffee. The staff was super friendly and I would highly recommend this motel and if we are in Gatlinburg again, we will stay there."

"It was a very authentic and historical hotel. Loved how even the decor kept with the old fashion vibe. Daily breakfast was excellent and the staff was very helpful and informative. They even offer a parting gift at the end of your stay. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to Gatlinburg for an authentic feel."

"The location is hard to beat. There was a definite mold issue in our room with mold on the ceiling of the bathroom which had no exhaust fan. I ended up wiping it all down myself and making sure the door stayed open so it wouldn’t get as much condensation. The rooms are good sized. "Just be aware of hidden fees that were not explained when I booked the reservation on Expedia. Breakfast is not free. It is 12.95 per day and there is a $15 per day for parking. The majority of the staff was very friendly, but I did have a run with someone who was working the breakfast area and he was very rude and overdramatic.
