"We went for a weekend and I highly recommend the Holiday Inn. The room was clean, the AC was cold, the bed was very comfortable. Two cons: 1: the room was that we got the room behind the elevator. While we did not hear the elevator, the layout wrapped around the shaft and that meant a narrow hallway to the room, which was annoying with bags and a stroller. 2: the bathroom door was a sliding barn style door and it weighed a ton. I struggled with it, so kids or the elderly will simply have to poop...

It is walkable down the main street which is lined with historic homes that lead to a terrific ice cream shop. Strasburg has a lot to offer in terms of an Amish experience and train tourism.
