"Entrance hall was welcoming but stair carpet to upper floors needs cleaning. Room was large and bright. Voile curtain had a large rip in it, door was difficult to lock with the key when leaving the room for the day. A comfortable chair instead of the chaise lounge would have been more comfortable. Shower was large and worked well, care needed on wet floor. Staff were very friendly and helpful."

"The Burlington is a fascinating historic building in a beautiful seafront location, and I appreciate the effort involved in maintaining a property of this age. Unfortunately, it appears to be in need of significant refurbishment. The worn, stained carpets made the room feel less clean than it likely was, and there were other signs of deferred maintenance such as peeling paint. We had read previous reviews mentioning bed bugs, so we chose to leave our luggage in the car as a precaution, although...

"There were some lovely touches about the general accommodation such as pretty chandeliers, nice artwork and grand mirrors. We were in room 6 which was advertised as lacking natural light, this was fine, but the decor was so dark and such a dull lightbulb, it made the room feel so dingy. There was no plug point near the mirror, so doing hair was difficult. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable and there was a lovely big fan in the room to help combat the heat. "The Hotel da Vinci's location was excellent, both for the seafront and for the theatres, heading into the centre of town for the restaurants and bars. Howard Square was nicely off the beaten track, very quiet with onstreet parking for which the hotel offered guests complimentary permits. My room was huge, if a little 'tired", decoratively speaking, but everything was very clean. Very happy with my stay, thank you!"
