"Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. Smallish but very comfortable rooms that were very nicely decorated. Immaculately clean and tidy throughout. Perfectly located a short walk from the station and the centre of town. Highly recommended."

"Really beautiful location, very friendly and helpful staff, rooms have an amazing view and comfy bed. Really spacious bathroom for just their standard size room, and really powerful shower. The only slight disadvantage is that the room had no heating on but was very warm somehow, so we had to sleep with the windows open. The breakfast had a good selection of choices, and fresh eggs."

"Exceptional staff. Every person i spoke to was helpful and very friendly. Building was a bit tired so some areas of cracked tile and mold staining in the pool area. Room smelt of wet dog and there were clothes moths."

"The room was spacious, large beds, ensuites and a lovely big living space. The lighting was a bit dim, more lamps would be good. Small things didnt work well, ie, no bedside lights, front door wouldnt lock (except for the yale), a bulb was out, we scouldnt get the phone to reception to work and wifi didnt work either. Some of the blinds need fixing too. However, lovely linen, comfy beds, great location and quiet. "

"I have stayed at The Pied Bull twice in the last year when visiting from the US. I stayed in 2 different rooms, a twin and then a double, both in the main building. Both rooms were clean and comfortable. The pros are location, being convenient to everything that Chester has to offer including sightseeing, shops and places to eat. The price is also reasonable for being in the city center. The cons are no parking on site, although there are many options within a 10 minute walk from the property....

"We were on foot from the station so very convenient. We found all the staff to be extremely pleasant and helpful. The furnishings in our room excellent and lovely new carpets everywhere. Very supportive bed, immaculate bathroom and constant extremely hot water. Breakfast excellent with fresh looking and tasty items which we enjoyed at out table overlooking the canal. Couldn`t fault it!. "

"Rooms were cleaned to an extremely high standard. WiFi worked well enough for my needs. Was only watching YouTube whilst relaxing in the evening . Wouldn't know what it would be like if i had to use it during the day for work. Breakfast was very nice. Not the most amazing selection but food items were replenished before they completely ran out and tables were cleared and cleaned very quickly "

"A very nice room which could probably do with an update. Very comfortable bed. Quite noisy in the evenings with comings and goings from the pub next door, but not too bad. Staff were very pleasant and helpful."

"Room was great for four of us after a day at the zoo and before a city visit the next day. Good walkable location. A small issue getting access but sorted by the host on the phone. Beware: there is NO parking at the property- I booked as it was a highlighted feature but there is no parking here. We were given advice by the host to park across the road in the Delamere car park which was fine (£9.50- arrived 8pm left next day at 2pm) but just an error on Expedia. Found the room quiet and warm....

"Great property. When we ran into troubles with the hot tub the owner was super responsive. The only downside was that there were only 2 towels so I recommend taking towels for the hot tub if you plan to use it."
