I felt safe as a solo traveler here. The room was clean and the location was good. The price is really good for what you get. Staff was kind and the bar is lovely. If you are very sensitive to noise, Friday/Saturday nights the bar is open until 11pm and it can be a bit noisy, but nothing a couple ear plugs can’t fix if you are turning in early those nights.

Great place to stay. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful and gave us suggestions. The bar was cozy and and the hotel is quiet at night after the bar closes. Would definitely stay here again

Great staff, cute room, and excellent cheese toasted down at the pub. Very quiet as well. Really nice coffees, cocoas, bottled water, milk, and cookies each day, too. Great touch.

Although our room was small (we’ll get a larger one next time) it was nicely appointed with beautiful recessed lighting, extravagant crown molding, and other touches. It appears to have been redone very recently and it shows - new carpets, fresh paint, etc. The bathroom included a modern shower with plenty of hot water and a clever heated mirror. Although we faced a busy street, it was remarkably quiet with renovated interior windows. The staff are a delight and we loved the friendly atmosphere of the pub downstairs. We visit our daughter who lives nearby as often as possible and the Crown is our new home away from home.

Great little place

Gem of a place 15 mins from Liverpool Street. Jay the Barman is an absolute legend. Room was excellent, very modern and clean. Only. 5 min walk from Hackney downs station. Nice bar especially when football is on.

the staff were really welcoming, the location was perfect for our plans, we ordered two twin rooms, which were in fact bunk beds!, this was not an issue as they were wide bunk beds and extremely comfortable, but I would not want to have shared the room for a second night! the shower was tremendous, the facilities were superb and the bedding lovely we went to a show, but were still able to order drinks as we were residents, which was nice, the bar was lively with lot of friendly people and a great atmosphere - I would recommend the Crown to everyone!

The overall wasn’t too bad but because the price I paid, I can’t give more than 2 star. For the check in you have to go at bar and in that moment was very busy and only one person at bar that had to do the till, serve clients and do check in for arrivals, so was not very smooth as check in, then I got in my room that actually wasn’t too bad at first look, I very enjoyed the spaciousness of the toilet and the location of the room. After few hours I was in the room I started to feel an unpleasant smell like a death mouse, but I couldn’t spot anything like that, but I had to leave the window opened because the room wasn’t smell of freshness. In the morning I choose to have a bath but I realised that the bath was leaking badly and all my stuff was wet from the water going everywhere , and also and the room above, that while I was in the bath I had to run at the door because someone came to communicate that the water was leaking in the room downstairs. Friendly staff, nice place but for the price I paid I guess should be a bit more of maintenance and service for guests.

Cozy room, all of the amenities looked updated. Even the little things like the tea and biscuits/coffee really made the stay comfortable. The electric kettle and coffee maker was such a treat :) the staff were so kind and friendly! Noise wasn't that bad considering it is above a pub.

Wonderful little gem!

What an absolute gem this place is. Was welcomed immediately by Serena and her team in such a warm friendly way like we were regulars! We stayed in room 10 which was brand new and such a beautiful room. The bed was extremely comfortable, the shower was amazing, you could have the rainfall or the standard head. Would highly recommend and definitely stay again next time we are in the area.
