"I asked for early check in upon arrival. They said they would try and to their credit the did get me in a little early, but I paid for a capital view and I got the view overlooking nothing. They wouldn't change my room. Then I wasnt even there 30 minutes and the cleaning staff unlocked the door and came in, saying they forgot they cleaned it and then a TV repair guy came in to repair the wiring for the room below mine, not even mine. They have zero ammentities if you arrive early and need to clean up. They also have very few food options and the one restaurant they do have is expensive. The best part of the hotel is the location, but certainly not worth the price. I could've stayed at the Ritz for that price. Rooms are still outdated, despite the recent remodel. I paid through hotels.com and got a good rate but when I went to cancel the second night because I didnt need it, the hotel refunded a very small amount of what I paid, only giving me the difference of the current rate, not the rate I paid. Both the hotel and hotels.com said it was the fault of the other so I had no one to help. Very disappointed."

"Lovely hotel and staff. Great location to National Mall. Only input has to do with the room design. They are trend focused but not sleep focused. The edges and design need a softening, curtain would be helpful —Our bed was stiff and pillows too large for sleeping. Thankfully, as soon as I thought to request smaller pillows in the early morning hours, the staff immediately provided them."

"Big win if you provided a complimentary water and coffee station in the lobby. Most people do not brew their coffee in their room. The coffee tray in the room that holds the cups, cream and sugar is never clean. When people travel, they do not want to be bothered with making coffee. Plus, many things taste better when someone else prepares it."

"Be aware that you need to let them know if you want your room done. The only issue we had apart from that was with the restaurant. We had breakfast there every day we stayed (3), and over had things go smoothly. Things, not arriving when ordered, not in the “form” advertised and the Ultimate today we got breakfast with no cutlery, no tea when ordered, nothing to go with the croissant (previous two days was jam and cream). Had to ask for everything twice before we got it."
