"Lovely room, friendly staff, fabulous breakfast and great location "

"Have stayed in 4 hotels and B&B’s in Eastbourne and this is by far and away the best one I’ve stayed in. Victorian features, stain glass windows combined with a modern style. Breakfast choices were eggcelent with proper sausages and bacon, the “house” scrambled eggs was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bonus as that area of Eastbourne can be tricky to find spaces to park at night. Would definitely stay at The New England again."

"Location is perfect for the beach and walking distance to restaurants. Parking is horendous. The lift didn't work when we visited, which was not ideal for 4 people with health and mobility issues, we were on the 2nd floor. The staires are quite rickety and winding. There wasn't air conditioning, but they did provide a fan. Our toilet seat was broken, we did report it, but was told it was a bank holiday weekend so nothing could be done. No cleaning service, no sitcom (it was hooottt), no elevator, no service. Staff quite rude. We asked why there was no room no room cleaning. The lady said „our fault“ as we did not put out a sign. "What a fantastic short break, owners are so friendly and do their upmost to ensure you have a relaxing stay. Rooms are extremely well decorated with all mod cons. Lovely little bar and breakfast is a must"

"First room was unusable due to extreme noise all night, and I only got moved the next day after reporting it. The first night was therefore effectively lost and no refund was given. Also concerning: the hotel took full credit card details, including the security code (CVV), and wrote them down on a piece of paper, which is unsafe practice. "We knowingly booked a small room. The room itself was clean and decent enough. It was an extremely hot day so could have done with A/C or at least a better fan than that provided. The bathroom was too tiny to be practical. There was no shelf in the tiny shower and there was not enough room to bend down and pick shower gel off the floor. Overall the price was very reasonable so we were not expecting the world. Staff were friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable."

"The hotel was stunning, with an antique elevator and wonderful staff who upgraded my room to a full sea view suite! the bed was so comfy and ginormous, and the bath was incredible. The whole place was super clean and modern. I will say, the room is showing signs of wear. Orange (tan?) stains on the marble, bubbling wallpaper under the mirror over the sink and marks on the paintwork, but none of this could take away from the immaculately clean room and gorgeous bed."

"We have stayed at this hotel several times before. It’s a great location in Eastbourne. The bed was clean and fresh and the breakfast very tasty. However, it is very tired. Our room was very disappointing- damp on the ceiling, one light fitting in the en-suite was hanging out of the ceiling and 2 other down lighting bulbs did not work. There was no heating in the room and it was needed. Also, there was no BBC on the very small and inefficient TV."

"Quirky decor but nice to be a formulaic look. Close to a superb Italian restaurant for dinner. Helpful staff and a great breakfast. Free on-site parking. A great stay"

"The staff were amazing from the front desk Darcy and mum to the night porter, who could not do enough for us brilliant. Would recommend to all ages and jealous that we’re not still there. Carnival was great; only thing is if you’re down for this event next year, find parking first early, as it’s at a premiere. Massive shout out again to all. 👍😘"
