"We Stayed 20 days. The kind staff, breakfasts and morning yoga with Sol were amazing. However, I wish the place focus more on welnes as they claim. ​The daytime atmosphere was unbearable. Deafening party music blasted by the pool from 11 AM to 8 PM daily. It was impossible to relax. We, and other guests, were forced to escape to nearby cenotes just to find peace. ​We complained multiple times. Zero improvement. Management claimed loud music increases spending. The reality? "Dj vibe was Vegas style which we loved! Staff was very attentive and friendly, loved our treehouse for the price they had a complementary breakfast, which was great! We celebrated my husband‘s birthday, and they decorated our room. Also we celebrated anniversary at the same time and they decorated our room for $250. One complaint which wasn’t their fault is that there was a lot of seaweed on the beach I wish I would’ve known. Best time to visit is between mid October till March to avoid that....

"Prachtig resort met klein zwembad. Huisjes zijn van riet en super mooi. Personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Wij waren niet in het hoogseizoen waardoor er geen keuken open was voor drankjes, lunch en diner, wel prima ontbijt. In de buurt is voldoende te eten en winkelen. Neem een kamer met airco. De kamers bovenin hebben geen airco en zijn niet te doen bij warmte. Parkeren kan op het terrein of voor de deur."

"My fiancé and I really enjoyed our stay at Casa Gitano!! Upon our arrival, we had an extra charge on our card that was reversed immediately by the concierge staff. She was very sweet and apologized for the accidental charge. We upgraded our room before we arrived and it was so worth it! They put you at a different resort which is an adult only with loud music and parties…we got lost twice at night because we could not find where we were actually staying..it was called BETU. Mosquitos bit me all night. Could not sleep. When I discovered everything had been misrepresented and asked to leave and get a refund they denied my request but gave someone else a free night. They have a party for local clubbers and give them free waters and drinks but...

"Sargassum is really bad, beware, but nothing the hotel can do about it. Bathroom walls could use some scrubbing, but it's and industrial/rustic vibe to it. Check in was fairly easy - we didn't do breakfast every morning, but pretty sure we were charged for it, regardless. Breakfast is not on premise - it's at another hotel and has a few options, but you can only pick one, not a breakfast bar or buffet, but a small plate. More like a breakfast snack. You'll definitely need to seek lunch out."

We were also not told about bug spray being an extra charge - we were STUNG badly at checkout. The guy who showed us to our room said it was all complementary on the coffee table … it’s not."
