We have traveled over the holidays twice to Iberostar Del Mar Cancun. We find it to be clean, food options are great. Accommodations for gluten free and vegan are becoming more available. The tropical environment of the resort is fantastic. But what makes this place so special, is the staff. They are friendly, helpful, and make you feel like family. Highly recommend. The on sight nightly shows and lobby activities make it fun.

This is best resort for a relaxing and quiet vacation. The staff is courteous and professional, the grounds are manicured and expansive. The many restaurants are varied and the food is top notch. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

Our room on the beach was very comfortable. The resort grounds were exceptional, with jungle landscaping, complete with wild critters (swans, pheasants, iguanas, wild pigs, parrots, ...). The buffets were excellent. We only tried one of the booked restaurants (Smoke House) and the food was not impressive. My only significant complaint is that there were no written warnings in the room that the tap water was not drinkable, and that toilet paper was not to be put in the toilet but rather in a basket in the bathroom. Perhaps these features are known to seasoned Mexico travellers, but newcomers need to be warned of these issues, especially the water problem as it is a health concern.

For us, the food and the beach was what really stood out. The food is TOP NOTCH... skip the restaurants, the buffet has everything you need to be happy and it always has something for everyone in your family. The beach is large and gorgeous, with a great bar and even a beach grill (with good food) right there. We barely even saw the pool because we enjoyed the beach so much. The staff was incredible, always helpful and so kind. Our rooms were clean, big, and just what we needed. It is incredibly safe, our teens were able to navigate the resort on their own and we all felt completely comfortable. We love that this resort is family owned and focuses on sustainability. The efforts of this resort to be environmentally responsible are very visible at every turn and it makes the stay feel even more luxurious. No reason to see any other resorts, we have been to many, and this really is the BEST!

The staff was amazing. The facility itself has not been touched in 10 years and the lack of maintenance reflects very poorly on my experience. I stayed at the same spot 10 years ago and was excited to take my husband this year. Everything was falling apart, crumbling, torn, and ripped, just poorly maintained throughout the last 10 years. The staff was amazing though.

All of the restaurants that we tried at the resort were very high quality, and the food was delicious. The staff members were all very friendly and helpful. The pool, beach areas, activities, and amenities were fun and inviting. We loved our stay!

Beautiful and lush grounds with pools that meander throughout the expansive property. Very clean and well maintained. Great family destination with an outstanding kids club. Dining choices were endless and varied. Beach was not as pristine as it used to be, with some sargassum and numerous jellyfish.

Stayed in building 11. It really needs to be painted inside and out. Staff were incredibly helpful and food at the Smokehouse and the Italian restaurant was amazing. Staff did push the Club several times but we just politely said no. The only improvement outside of the paint, would be to somehow control the beach trolls selling merchandise. At least 10 times a day we were approached to purchase goods.
