I believe there are only 15 rooms in the hotel giving the hotel a boutique feel. In a lively city like Venice, it truly was a very nice retreat. The staff was very friendly yet not overly helpful. The other guests were truly considerate. That being said, if you read previous Expedia reviews, the hotel gets high marks on all categories except...

Opening the door through the app was not straightforward but there is option to get a physical key instead. Check in was done online and was hassle free. Room was ready when we arrived. "I was not happy with my experience. Had to wait outside with no instructions how to get in when finally a guest opened the door only because he was on his way out!! Waited over 20 minutes after a long day taking trains and boat ride. They even make you pay for a bottle of water!"
