"The log cabin lodge is run by Sasaki San and his mum. Lovely people. The place was clean and very quiet. All we heard were the birds and great view of the lake. Sunset made the island shine and a rainbow to appear. Since the cabin is surrounded by nature, just keep the insect screens in place when the verandah doors are open and all is good. "This is a gem of a hotel. Located on the edge of the lake with an amazing view. The hotel has a genuine Japanese vibe. The rooms have baths with hot spring water. The hotel staff have variable english skills but they are very helpful. The nearby village has lots of great restaurants. 30 minute drive to Rusutsu."

"The staff were friendly and super helpful. The hotel was quite clean. The free shuttle and full breakfast were great. We ate dinner there every night-inexpensive and delicious. The ski locker was huge and was perfect for drying out wet skis and gear. Totally planning on staying here on our next trip. "
