"Absolutely incredible. Only 9 rooms and ours, Sora, had an incredible view with the onsen on our private roof deck We didn’t see any other guests the entire time. Service was best we’ve ever had as compared to any other five star hotel and food was three-Michelin star quality. There is a reason this place is rated as the #1 ryokan. "

"This is further out from Hakone than I expected but the hotel is lovely. It’s a little run down and could do with sprucing up a bit but we enjoyed our stay. The staff are very friendly and the food was lovely. Buses run regularly to attractions in the area from just outside the hotel"

"We had an excellent relaxing visit in Hakone at the Prince Hotel. The Japanese bath is exceptionally beautiful, has an outdoor tub from which the sunrise over the mountains can be seen. We enjoyed the extensive breakfasts- don't pass them up. We don't golf or play tennis, but used this resort setting as a base for sightseeing and hiking the region's mountain trails."
