"The pros: location is incredible, next to the ropeway. The staff were incredibly nice and went above and beyond with service. The hot spring was fantastic and really well maintained. Very good ryokan style experience. The cons: the rooms were not really well kept. Lots of cob webs around and the sink didn’t have hot water working. Other thing that may have been an isolated incident, but both me and my friend ate their traditional dinner service and following breakfast. That’s the only thing we ate for the day. We both got horribly sick for two days with seemingly food poisoning after eating these meals. Didn’t have this issue our entire time in Japan aside from this one location. If it weren’t for that one aspect, I would have rated it a 3.5/5."
