"This entire stay was an experience. From the minute you walk in, you are greeted by a team of people who help you every step of the way. It felt like a spa, a home and a luxury hotel all at the same time! I have stayed at many luxury resorts but this was by far the best overall experience. Highly recommend. The breakfast and dinners were exceptional. We were seated in a private room for both. My daughter has a lactose allergy and they adapted the menu for her. The thoughtfulness and care taken...

"The hotel is excellent. But there are a few things we really did not like. If you try to call the reception, they hardly can speak English, always sorry, only Japanese. Then we lost our bag in the bus and asked the hotel after checkout to help us claim the bag, they just send us a phone number for the bus station, I could look this up myself. And I even tried to call the bus station, but they only speak Japanese, that’s why I have ask the hotel to help us. Luckily our next hotel in Sapporo...

"Clean and spacious room. The beds on the floor were not very comfortable, especially the pillows. Staff was very helpful in making arrangements when possible although they did not seem to know much about the Five Lakes area. Overall if you are interested in Hakone/Gora this is a great property. "

"First of all, this is small ryokan only 7 rooms. People called it dated accommodation but it's just the way we like it. We don't want brand new ryokan, we want something old but clean and well maintained. How to get there? From Hakone Yumoto Station take Hakone Tozan Train, you can bring your big luggages inside just fine. Drop at Gora Station then take Hakone Tozan Cable Car. Take the cable car and get out on OH 58 Koen-Shimo. Go downstair a little bit, there is a T section right in front....
