"Really wonderful hotel with private natural osen (in the suite we had). The public osen was also very nice with all the amenities. Dinner and breakfast was served very much like a 5star restaurant, but very traditional Japanese so that is something you have to like. The hotel is very old, boasting as one of the oldest, so it’s pretty authentic so is a bit musty in the common areas. However our room didn’t smell musty and was very clean and felt new. We loved the natural Osen. Would visit again...

"Its a little bit of a hike going to the inn so be aware not to bring big luggages. I did read the previous review and had only my overnight bag and that helps a lot. The inn itself is pretty clean, the staff were accomodating and I was able to book the private onsen. Its a nice place to relax after a long day of walking around hakone"

"Beautiful onsen, very hiddrn and quiet. Seems like an authentic Japan experience for foreign travelers. Wonderful private hot spring baths. Choice of western or Japanese slerping arrangements. Ie. "First of all, this is small ryokan only 7 rooms. People called it dated accommodation but it's just the way we like it. We don't want brand new ryokan, we want something old but clean and well maintained. How to get there? From Hakone Yumoto Station take Hakone Tozan Train, you can bring your big luggages inside just fine. Drop at Gora Station then take Hakone Tozan Cable Car. Take the cable car and get out on OH 58 Koen-Shimo. Go downstair a little bit, there is a T section right in front....
