"Good location. Beautiful rooms at a great price. We loved the lounge, where drinks and snacks are served all day. So nice to relax there after a long day. The only thing we didn’t love was that although the windows were large and let in light, the views are blocked. Other than that, we love this place."

"This was a perfect place to experience Japan. It had traditional Japanese accomodations and food but also with many high tech conveniences. The staff was very helpful in getting us taxis to easily visit locations like the imperial palace or the Bamboo Forest. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wishes to have a great experience in Kyoto. "

"Our host Kiyo San was extremely gracious, informative , and friendly. We even got to experience a tea ceremony and lesson by Kiyo San! The hotel itself was beautiful, traditional, and elegant. Thank you Kyoto Machiya Fukune for making our stay very memorable. We hope to be back soon!"

"We stayed there with two other sets of friends. It was like having our own house. Great location, easy walk to the bus stops to go everywhere. There’s also a bike rental up the street which was really fun too. Our room had everything you needed I felt very traditional well still having a fewwestern amenities. "

"Instructions unclear about accessing property. We took a cab from kyoto station to the property where we had no access to enter. Apparently you need to go to an office near kyoto station before you are allowed into the property. Once there the staff did coordinate travel to the property. The property location was nice with many restaurants and shops with a 15-20 minute walk. Property was very nice with clothes washer and a way to dry the clothes as well as Instructions for how everything worked...

"This place is such a hidden gem, the location is perfect and the neighborhood has lots of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The staff were so kind and the breakfast has a lot of variety. I would absolutely stay again."
