"The room smells like it has a bad drainage system. Once we enter the room and it smells like the toilet has been backed up. The fabric spray provided was useless. Attitude of staff were mixed, some discrimination were definitely present. Felt harrassed by the staff to settle the bill due to deciding to have extra guest in the room which we also had already decided to pay for. "

"The whole place is spacious, peaceful and beautiful! Japanese style room equipped with complimentary drinks and snacks as well as nice pajamas and slippers to use during stay. The shower and very large bath tub are amazing! Very close to great shopping and Nishiki market. We hope to come back soon for a longer stay."

"We were a family of 2 adults and 2 children staying in the Moderate Large room. There was space for 4 beds that were futon style set up on a platform but no seating area. There was limited space for luggage storage which is typical of a Japanese hotel room. The washroom was spacious, clean and modern. There was a bathtub as well as a shower. "I've stayed in some of the world's best hotels, and this one is a real gem. I would definitely stay here again. Special shout-out to the amazing staff and the room breakfast, very nicely presented, proportioned and absolutely delicious. The bathtub is so deep and the shower is great. The bed is like a cloud. "Great price for what you get. The room was clean and the lobby offers free snacks, coffee and juice 24 hours. The lobby also offers affordable beer, wine, whiskey and sake for only 500 yen. The beds were firm and comfortable. The hotel is located close to a metro stop. I would definitely come back to this place the next time I’m in Kyoto. "
