"Pleasant hotel but rather isolated from shops and amenities despite not being far from the city centre. No meal provided in the evening due to restaurant being closed on Sundays and no bar either. Which meant a trek up the road to a pub to get anything to eat and drink. I would not book again. Staff were all pleasant and helpful so no complaints there."

"Check in was a bit confusing as the property is unattended and I was unsure of the room allocation. I called the owners who clarified things. The property is clean and functional, great as a base for a few days."

"For the $91 per night price, this was very good value. Indeed, the property is a mere 5 minutes from the port and train station, which is great. Also, there are good restaurants within a 15 to 20 minute walk. There is a decent full kitchen, although there appeared to be no way to make ice. "We booked here due to the proximity of the cruise ships. This hotel was fantastic! Could walk most of all of Southampton with out any issue. Close in proximity to most things. The restaurant was fantastic for dinner one night. Rooms were big and well appointed. Loved the extra things they did to help with recycling etc. (the bins, the jar for milk etc). On top of all that they were very helpful in getting cabs and directing us when asked. I’d go there again in a minute!"

"this is a small boutique hotel that doesn’t really have any amenities that I’m aware of. However, because the hotel is a straightforward boutique and Restaurant, the staff really shines, and they were wonderful. We booked several rooms for a wedding party and it worked out super well. I saw only one real downside to the hotel and that is the number of steps required to get around, so if you are older or emo, this hotel could be very difficult for you as there are no lifts. "Room was clean and bed comfortable. No refrigerator nor microwave. Hotel was reasonably priced. It was close to the bus station and cruise port. Worked great for the night before cruising."

"Needed a base for a couple of nights for a coastal visit. Very well decorated room in semidetached. Large bed. Good bathroom with shower & nice choice of soaps, etc. Coffee maker and kettle, lots of tv channels. Ten minutes walk up from Central station and regular buses at both ends of road."
