The morning before, by noon we received a call That there was a mistake with the availability and were given the option to move to the sister hotel in Tulum, LA ZEBRA. "We really enjoyed our time at the Catalonia Royal Tulum. Our expectation for this 4 day trip to the area was to relax and enjoy the time at the beach. This is exactly what we did. Everyone from check in, wait staff, bar tenders, room service and stewards where friendly, polite and went above and beyond. The grounds are well kept and clean. "If it was out of 10, we would give it 7.5. The facility is nice, jetted tub in the room was nice! Great size, we had a balcony, and stand in rainfall shower. The shower door didnt stay closed though, so the bathroom floor often got wet. Also, there was some water damage in the room that should be addressed. The breakfast was good, but we didn't enjoy the food thoroughout the day so much. But we do understand this can be a preference. Staff was nice. The pool was nice. The beach on the property...

"The resort was really beautiful. The staff are really nice. The only issue I had was I got bit by something on the bed like I have like 10 to 12 big lumps on my hands and we noticed every time we close our room door when we’re leaving when we come back, it smells like poop. My vices don’t stay on the first floor maybe go up but overall the resort is really nice and also it’s far away from a lot of things and they don’t suggest or have any package deal to take you anywhere."

"Great spot to fully relax, plenty of relaxation areas/seating on the beach. Staff were very attentive and food was very good. My husband and I both received massages at the spa and were excellent. Room was clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here. "
