"We had an apartment in the new building, main door (a sliding door) was broken and could not close properly, no shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom, there was sewer stench around the property (it may be the overall area because we sensed it in the restaurant next door too). "Clean small rooms in a well-kept hostel. The staff were great especially Oscar, who greeted us heartily each time he saw us. Complimentary breakfast was tasty and filling. You can't beat the price, especially when you can walk 5 minutes to the beach."

"We enjoyed this hotel very much. Our room was very clean, beds comfortable and upgraded washroom. It had the best water pressure in all of Costa Rica in our experience from similar hotels. The breakfast was pretty mediocre and the wifi was ok. The location to the beach and the park was fantastic - literally a 3 minute walk with no hills. Would definitely recommend!"

"Los Altos is nice. However, for the price, I think you get better service at other nearby properties. The staff seemed young and not very accommodating. We have two kids with celiac. We had seen some reviews that they did a great job with other families. We did not have that experience. The beach is very rocky there so essentially not swimmable. You have to take a car down to the beach. It's very inconvenient. The pool is mediocre. I would not stay here again. "
