"The staff and the beautiful history and architecture of the hotel are a pleasure. Location for walking from deep in the West end of Vancouver shops, cafes and restaurants is spot on. The ability to step across the road and get onto the sea wall pathway is fantastic. The restaurant is... good... but not necessarily for the young or young at heart.. Being the oldest cocktail lounge in Vancouver.. i feel I was hoping for a lot more than it offered.. but it didn't negatively affect our stay as there...

"The room I got had so much character, with a beautiful view of the water and city, even the windows were lovely. Everything was clean, bright and felt safe (older woman travelling alone for dr appointment). I enjoyed my room so much that I got room service and ate, looking out the window. The meal was visually beautiful and tasted wonderful. All staff were wonderful. Bed was comfy. For those who are chemically sensitive, the linens have a touch of scent. I would stay here again, can't beat...

"It would be great to have shared public areas for consumers to use. Since the owners are staying home daily, it’s not very comfortable to use the living room and kitchen. The towels are also quite smelly. It would be wonderful if the heater or air conditioning were working so that there’s fresh air circulating. "

"No continental breakfast but they give coupons for the restaurants next door which were great. Great location. Can be a little loud but windows are well built for sound but if you’re a light sleeper like me earplugs are a must. Great rooms, nice lighting lots of windows!"

"Excellent and very convenient location after a late sailing on BC Ferries. The newly renovated deluxe rooms are spotlessly clean, modern, and very comfortable. The kitchen facilities are a fantastic bonus and make the stay even more convenient. Overall, a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Would happily recommend and stay again."

"The hosts are a friendly, experienced hostel business family. I enjoyed the breakfasts and the homey vibe. I'd like to leave two hopefully helpful pieces of advice for the visitors. If you're using a ride-hailing service, the car is not supposed to stop at the front of the house; it's better to use the spot on W 35th Ave or the back alley to get on / off. If your booked room is on the second floor and your luggage is heavy, be ready to lift it by yourself, as there is no elevator available."
