"Location was excellent. Very close to Victoria street. Great access to the castle, royal mile and restaurants in Grassmarket. Room was just okay, the floor was so loud you could hear everyone walking by and if your partner went to the restroom. The shower had a small glass half door so water got all over the floor when taking a shower. The pool and sauna was a nice add. The room view I purchased didn’t look like the picture. Had very large windows and the room we had just had one smaller window, you could see the castle just not as pictured in the room we were given. You can’t control the temperature of the room so that was a downside. They provide a small fan but sometimes it got really hot. Didn’t eat at the hotel so no opinions of the options. "

"The mattress on the bed was terrible for me (felt like a really old sprung mattress, with little support). No breakfast on weekdays, which is a pain. Otherwise the room and bathroom were fine. Didn't use the pub downstairs but looked fine."

"The best stay of our whole trip! Very clean, extremely comfortable, a lovely tea and coffee basket. Breakfast was better than going to a restaurant- fresh and hot, many choices and we were served in our room in total comfort. Alice most accommodating, very sweet and full of local information. We can’t wait to book and stay again. "
