"Unfortunately the hotel pumps in am air freshener that is overwhelming. There was no air-conditioning so even with a fan the room was very hot. The room had a frosted sky light over the bed do it was very bright early morning. There were only 4 channels on the TV and you had to pay £5 to use the pool. The hotel is quite dated"

"First time here, fantastic gem in a very quaint spot. We really loved our room, felt like we were back in time, was so unique - for anyone cruising out of Southampton cruise terminal would highly recommend a night here!!!! We loved it."

"Really disappointed with our stay. One of the main reasons we booked was for the swimming pool and spa facilities, but a few days after making the booking we were informed they wouldn’t be available. Unfortunately, because I hadn’t paid extra for the flexible cancellation option, I couldn’t cancel and get a refund. Lesson learned. I’d also be careful with the half-board option. We paid an extra £300 for two nights for a family of four, only to find an almost empty breakfast buffet one morning....

"Beautiful historic mansion. We walked thru nearby parks to the riverfront for lunch. The outdoor restaurant at Orange Grove was very pleasant for an evening dinner and happy hour. The admiral lounge is very comfortable while waiting for pickup to go to the airport or cruise ships."

"Rooms were spacious, modern and clean. We didn’t use the spa due to only staying one night and the extra charge as booked through Expedia but if book direct, it’s included. Breakfast was £16.95 and worth it. Great choice. Lovely outdoor seating area. Beds comfy. Bathrooms good. Quiet location. All was good."

Pushing two single beds together and calling it a king size should be criminalised. "We stayed here for one night after a day in Winchester. A nice enough hotel, with staff pleasant enough. The room we stayed in was small but well kept. The main issue we had was that the room was that next to a staff run through, meaning doors were slammed constantly. Further, there was no air conditioning, and the room we were in at the bottom floor was next to a busy beer table and had lots and lots of mosquitoes, meaning we were bitten to heck!
