"I booked 2 rooms, one was much bigger and was better than the other but both adequate for 1 night. The bathroom in the smaller room was unfinished but totally usable. The shared facilities were good, lovely lounge. Beds were not that comfortable to be honest. Garden and outside areas looked lovely, a bit too cold to use unfortunately. Good quiet location and parking on site. Fridge, microwave and kettle in room was nice. We ate at a nearby restaurant called Lot 25, very enjoyable - good...

"The accommodation was easy to find & parking no problem. Hospitable host. It was perfect for us - we just stayed 1 night. Clean. Good kitchenette. Plenty of windows that open easily, so nice & light & airy. Bed comfortable. Shower not very powerful, but sufficient. Heaters in lounge & bedroom if needed. Breakfast & fruit juice brought to your door & very tasty. Would recommend & return. "

"This is the first negative review I've ever had to give. We stayed at The Golden Lion Hotel St. Ives. (13-14 Feb) We stayed in Room 20 which was very small and had the constant, very loud noise of the kitchen extractor humming. On the first night it was still on at 10.45pm and we had to ask Reception to deal with it and then it was back on, waking us up at 7pm. "One of the most unforgettable experiences lately, room was newly renovated, very comfortable and had an amazing view to the college courtyard. Breakfast was way better than the ones in 4-star London hotels and the breakfast room is like out of Harry Potter books. Big thanks to the staff and Jesus college. They truly took us to our good old college times."

Gym was ok although the treadmill base I used had a layer of engrained sticky dust / gunk on it, as well as over the floor corners and window sills. Pool was ok."
