Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities
To start, we (party of the groom) chose this location because they were a “family friendly” location. Upon arrival, one of our party members, the brother of the groom was denied entrance as he was 17, we were told that Dreams Vista was acquired by Hyatt and they would be switching over at midnight and would be 21+ only. We chose this place specifically because it was family friendly, to accommodate him. They switched only the groom, and his two brothers to another location, effectively separating the groom and his two brothers from the groomsmen for the trip. Imagine our surprise when we woke up the next day and there were kids running around the hotel!! Now, if that was not enough, multiple members of our trip found cockroaches in our rooms (on separate floors) and crawling around in the Italian restaurant. When I called the front desk to inform them of the cockroach, I was asked if there was “only one”. Moreover, while in the pool, we had to flag to a manager that there was a diaper floating in the pool. The only redeeming factor was how kind the food service employees were.

My detail review: Stay 08/20/2026 Staff: Wonderful, very helpful and kind. Emmanuel was great as well as the gentleman outside the Asian restaurant. All speak good English. Rooms: Nice, cool, clean, spacious, modern, balcony and big bathroom. Free minibar with coffee, water, soda, alcohol. note: The shower is semi see thru from the room, just FYI if you’re sharing a room with someone other than a partner. Food: -Breakfast: buffet with fresh omelette and quesadilla station. Buffet food was okay, some items are changed everyday, lots of options. Vantage club (upgrade) has additional option of eating at Mediterraneo restaurant (I was not vantage club) -Lunch: Tacos and Hamburgers (everyday), or one of the open restaurants. Two options for non vantage club; Aglio (Italian) and Akari (asian). Both had very good food options. -Dinner: Choose open restaurant (app). Non vantage, Akari, Aglio, Mediterraneo. Vantage, all of the previous plus Vista Prime (Asado). Great food, fresh, always have room service. Activities: pool, beach, kayak, resort schedule. I didn’t spend much time at the resort, I spend more time exploring Cancun. Additional paid activities. Location: great. Located in puerto Juarez in a gated community. 14 min walk from ferry that goes to Isla Mujeres. Overall great resort. Now adults only. Only negative was beach was covered in seaweed. I would recommend having more dessert options. Coco cafe was nice but some desserts were stale.

I wish I could write two reviews to capture my full experience. I stayed at Hyatt Vivid, formerly Dreams Vista Cancun, from August 13–16, 2026. The Vantage Club and pool staff were outstanding and deserve 5 stars. Unfortunately, the overall experience deserves zero. We need planned a bachelor party that included the groom's 17 year old brother and best man. Before booking in April, the groom called the hotel and was assured it was family-friendly. After we arrived, we were informed the property had rebranded to adults-only, and the minor's reservation was canceled. At check-in, we were initially told the original booking terms would be honored, but that promise was reversed. Hotel manager required the groom and his two brothers, including the minor, to leave immediately. They were not even allowed to stay one night despite the rebrand taking effect at midnight. Left in another country without accommodations or assistance, they had to scramble to find another hotel after flying from Chicago. Hyatt had months to notify us of the policy change but provided no warning, no proactive communication, and no effort to keep our party together. The groom spent his bachelor trip separated from the group, disrupting planned activities and creating unexpected expenses as we tried to salvage the trip.While some staff members were exceptional, Hyatt's lack of communication, accountability, and customer care ruined a long-awaited celebration.

Room was clean, services were top tier and the food was amazing! Akiria is the best restaurant on property. I really enjoyed the stay at Hyatt Vivid Cancun. My husband and I look forward to visiting again. Zero complaints, book now!
