"This is most certainly an older hotel but the room was completely updated and had a super comfortable bed and pillows, great shower, nice Kerig coffee maker, fridge and microwave. The place was immaculately clean! We would only have hoped to have two bedside tables but there was just one. Parking was easy and just steps from the room. It felt safe and convenient to shopping and restaurants. We highly recommend staying here!"

"Everything was really good. It’s a good location for someone who doesn’t want to stay right in the town. We were initially situated in a suite near the laundromat and it was very loud. Front desk was quick to offer us another room. Unfortunately, housekeeping missed us and for a hotel where we’re paying a resort/facility fee + parking fee, it was a little disappointing. "The property is very clean. The bed was comfortable, however, the pillows were flat and uncomfortable. The breakfast was always well stocked and the breakfast area was clean and well attended to. The doors to the outside have a gap on the bottom that allows light and noise to come into the room. Adding a door seal could really help with that. We ended up having to use a pillow because the light was bright coming into our room. Overall it was a good stay. I would definitely stay here again."

The bed was super comfy too! They have laundry on site and you can also refill water legacy was very helpful! Everyone I encountered was very friendly and helpful. "Check in was easy and the staff friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Son enjoyed the pool which was nice after long days at Laguna Seca. Close enough to fast food restaurants and grocery stores including some fantastic donuts at Monterey Donuts. Also being an easy drive to and from Laguna was great. If we are able to make the trip again next year we will strongly consider using El Castell again"

"One of the worst hotels I have stayed at. Was old and tired and dirty and smelly. Terrible choice to stay there. Holes in curtains. Dirty coffee machine. Bathroom stunk of drainage. Floors in bedroom stunk of disinfectant and were sticky. "

"Amazing hotel!!! The staff were so friendly and accomodating. The only thing is that there is no A/C since the property is older so keep that in mind BUT they do have fans to give you if needed. But they were amazing, bed was comfy and great views"
