"Staff were really “matter of fact” and unapologetic for extra fees on parking and lack of service abilities due to non working ice machine Given the weather and timeframe Only renting for overnight We didn’t have a lot of needs but a good cold drink and not having to park across the street in the rain were 2 of them"

"Nice property, our go to anytime we stay on the Big Island. It's in a great location near Kona, the airport, and a lot of activities. There are a lot of things to do at the property as well, including a pool, volleyball courts, grills, etc. The room is very spacious. It has a full sized kitchen, washer/dryer, dining room, and living room. It also has nice sized rooms and bathrooms."

"Beautiful ocean view room, but no AC, kitchen sink or tv despite being given kitchen towels & dish soap. Tarnished silverware in drawer to use…ew! TV for storm information would’ve been useful. AC would have made room more comfortable due to storm/rain making it impossible to leave windows open plus safety in sleeping leaving ground floor windows open & slider unsecure if left open. Roof tore off by storm during our stay. Had to evacuate but given no assistance in securing new accommodation nor...

"Our stay was not at all as described. We thought we were getting an ocean view with laundry. Instead we had to cross a road for both a view and laundry. Will not return or recommend."

"Dan was a great host and the breakfast each morning was amazing. It felt like we were in actual Hawaii and not just another tourist hotel. he also showed us around the property and took extra time sharing about Kona coffee and gave us some delicious fruit right off the tree. "

"When I booked our stay at Gingerhill, I had no idea what to expect outside of an experience that would be unlike the typical room and board my partner and I are accustomed to. "Check in was the worst! Arrived in the evening and although the front desk clerk tried to give directions to the building/room it was impossible to find. Very POOR lighting so bad I fell on the walkway! The room was clean and spacious Cute sign instructing to remove shoes but the carpet had nails that we all stepped on and cut our feet Swimming pool was closed for maintenance and the next one next to us was empty A nice complimentary Hula Show was an added plus"
