"A convenient place to stay, with easy access to the train station. Amenities were great and having two showers/toilets was a bonus! The host was very responsive and easy to contact throughout our stay. One thing to be aware of is that sound travels easily between connected villas (East 101 and 102). During our five‑night stay in 102, we experienced two nights where the guests in 101 were very loud - running up and down the stairs, moving chairs, singing, cheering and stomping during a sports...

"Rooms are very nice. Dinner was fine, but extra money paid for extra dishes, was a little waste of money, especially the beef dish, which was VERY overpriced!!! Onsen is not big, but quite good. Overall, it was very nice."

"This place is over 100 years old and because of that, it has its quirks but I think it adds character to the ryokan experience. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The kaiseki dinner was delicious but it was a lot of food. We had to request to serve us one less meal so we didn’t waste too much. The service and ambiance was great. The onsens were a perfect touch to end our days. We would definitely stay here again!"

"Absolutely stunning hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and extremely attentive. They represent the hotel very well. We stayed in one of the rooms with a private onsen and the view of the mountains and the river below was wonderful, very peaceful. "The house was difficult to find and, as mentioned, had a steep hill to walk down. When we entered, it smelled strongly of gas as there were 3 gasoline jars directly inside the door. The smell gave all four of us a headache. Also, it was VERY cold, due to missing windows. The heaters were set at max and we were still very cold. Lastly, the floors are not stable. In the dining room, it felt like we were walking on cardboard, as the floor flexed and moved when we walked. "
