"We stayed here as a family of 4 in March 2026. We stayed in a Japanese style room. The room has a toilet and sink but no shower. There are both indoor and outdoor baths however which we enjoyed! The indoor bath change area is a bit small if there are several people using it at the same time. The outdoor bath is lovely and quiet but with no shower area to shampoo/soap up so you need to go down the stairs to the indoor area to do this. Both outdoor and indoor baths are separated by gender. "Absolutely stunning hotel. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and extremely attentive. They represent the hotel very well. We stayed in one of the rooms with a private onsen and the view of the mountains and the river below was wonderful, very peaceful. "This place is over 100 years old and because of that, it has its quirks but I think it adds character to the ryokan experience. The staff were so welcoming and friendly. The kaiseki dinner was delicious but it was a lot of food. We had to request to serve us one less meal so we didn’t waste too much. The service and ambiance was great. The onsens were a perfect touch to end our days. We would definitely stay here again!"

"The villa is so clean and modern. Japanese style futon , complete house appliances, you can wash and cook. Very close to Hakone Yumoto station. I recommend it to any one travelling to Hakone . You will not be dissappointed"
