"This is an exceptional property. There is a lot of wood in the decor which some will find a bit dated but it is very well executed and spotless. It harks to a different era and does it very well. The food across all of its restaurants is of the highest standard and sets it apart from any other property in my 40yrs of travel. Of course the Michelin 2☆ is expensive but they executed a pop-up restaurant on the pier next to the Sea whilst we stayed which was flawless. The 2 Michelin recommended...

"Excellent property right in the centre of Funchal. We stayed in the top floor apartment V, which had a lovely balcony that has a side view towards the see and sunshine from midday. The kitchen is full of all utensils and cleaning products. Tupperware came in handy to take on hikes with you. There are a couple of points to note. There is no lift so you need to make sure you can climb plenty of steps. The mattress is quite firm and the building carries the noise so you can hear a lot of things...

"Centrally located in town. Tons of restaurants and bars to pick from. Great hotel overall. Only disadvantage is parking is either on street or in a parking garage requiring you to bring your luggage too and from where you park."

"The resort and staff were incredible! The facilities were well maintained, food onsite was great with a variety of restaurants and bars to choose from. Also super close to restaurants in surrounding area and a short 10 min drive from downtown Funchal with the convenience of a hop on hop off bus stop right at the resort! Highly recommended!"

The breakfast was wonderful way to start the day, a vairty of food and plenty, and hot or cold appropriately, and very welcoming, clean and lots of space. "Property staff quite friendly and speak plenty if languages. Check in was available early and checkout we were able to store our luggage and use all the facilities until we were ready to leave funchal. Breakfast buffet is incredible with plenty of variety and volume. No nuisance birds due to on-site falconry. Would recommend, and return. Stayed with adult friends."
