"A lovely pub just outside Durham in High Shincliffe. It’s nicely done up and a mix of locals and travellers like me. The food is well priced and the drinks list extensive. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I LOVED my full English breakfast. You cannot fault this place for the price. "

"This was a very nice comfortable place. We had a little trouble finding it. Was easy to check in and out of. The only suggestion I would make was to put the exterior patio lights on a timer so that they turn off at night— if it’s hot and you have the window open then you have all the light from the patio. But it was very clean and comfortable."

"All the staff were very friendly and helpful, since I’m disabled. They helped me up and down the stairs and Owen put our luggage in our rental car. Hannah and Beth were also wonderful, with other help. "

"Lovely surroundings. Our room was cozy. Nicely decorated but carpet could have benefited from a shampoo. En suite very small. Shower small if you are not very thin! Window seat only sitting option which was ok if not closing curtains Lovely food in the evening. Breakfast average and not great selection for continental. All in all though we would definitely return but would book larger room"
