"We love vacationing on the Yucatan Peninsula over the last 15 years. We have stayed at several different resorts, condos, and even an ocean-front villa, but the Princess resort is by far our favorite. We've stayed at the Princess once or twice a year over the last 5 years, and brought family members to enjoy to resort with us. The resort has been doing some needed renovations over the last year and the updated rooms are beautiful. Our only disappointment with the new rooms is they removed the Jacuzzi tubs, which was one of our favorite perks, and replaced them with a nice looking but small bathtub. They also remodeled the restaurants and improved the dining options and experiences. They have several chefs available to cook to order food at the evening buffet. And the staff is always very helpful. We want to thank Francisco, Roberto, Lorenzo, Beatriz, and Angel for making all of our meals a wonderful experience, and also our favorite tram driver Bernie for his excellent service. The only other thing that could have made our vacation better was the beach conditions. The sargassum was really bad, and was piled up in big stinky mounds, so we didn't spend anytime at the beach. I don't know if it's possible for the resort to do something to improve that, but we spent our time enjoying the pools instead. We really enjoyed our stay and we will be back to the Princess!"

"You'd better keep all of your valuables in the safe!!! I found the house keeping staff stealing money. I hid all of my Canadian bills rolled in a scarf and tucked away in the bottom of my backpack in the closet. When my daughter and I returned to our room, we found the housekeeping staff coming around my daughter's bed from the direction of the closet. She went to grab couple of pillows off the foot of my daughter's bed and dropped bunch of Canadian $20's and $5 bills. She grabbed them and gave them to me and when asked she said "they are yours" Since my daughter did not bring any Canadian money with her, I grabbed the backpack out of the closet. My scarf has been tampered with and total of $100 was missing the exact $100 that supposedly fell off my daughter's bed who did not bring any money with her. We reported this incident to the hotel concierge and filed an incident report and the security personnel was involved. The next day, I was told that the house keeping staff denied having stolen the money. I was told that she will not be cleaning our room and she'll be assigned to another area. After, I felt so unsafe and suspicious of all the staff even though they are very friendly and attentive. I had to make sure to lock the patio door and the front door and lock everything up in the safe. This incident certainly marred otherwise a lovely family vacation in a very nice hotel."

"Third floor pool was the only swim up bar. It had a film in the back right corner that we had to constantly stay away from or move to the filter. There was a dead lizard at the bottom of the pool at one point. Not sure how often they clean it. Bali beds are an up charge even afternoon when they haven’t been used and it’s with items (lobster dinner and tequila) that we wouldn’t have wanted. No info given regarding restaurants days open, times or that majority needed reservations at check in. AC broke in room 2x after being moved. Food was delicious. Don’t get a room by the pool- if you want to nap or go to bed early, The stairs hinder housekeeping and in the AM you hear them pulling or pushing carts up or down stairs in the hall. It wasn’t the most relaxing, but we enjoyed it and maneuvered around issues that didn’t work for us to make the best. Overall it was close to 5th Ave- something we’d never done and it was a new experience! Some staff weren’t the friendliest or helpful. Daily entertainment lacked but again gor the mo ey it was a good resort. "
