"Pleasant hotel but rather isolated from shops and amenities despite not being far from the city centre. No meal provided in the evening due to restaurant being closed on Sundays and no bar either. Which meant a trek up the road to a pub to get anything to eat and drink. I would not book again. Staff were all pleasant and helpful so no complaints there."

He had problems logging into his system, but all he could tell us was "I cant help you". We had issues with check ins, the room smelled smoky and air ventilation system was broken. "Needed a base for a couple of nights for a coastal visit. Very well decorated room in semidetached. Large bed. Good bathroom with shower & nice choice of soaps, etc. Coffee maker and kettle, lots of tv channels. Ten minutes walk up from Central station and regular buses at both ends of road."

However, because the hotel is a straightforward boutique and Restaurant, the staff really shines, and they were wonderful. We booked several rooms for a wedding party and it worked out super well. "We booked here due to the proximity of the cruise ships. This hotel was fantastic! Could walk most of all of Southampton with out any issue. Close in proximity to most things. The restaurant was fantastic for dinner one night. Rooms were big and well appointed. Loved the extra things they did to help with recycling etc. (the bins, the jar for milk etc). On top of all that they were very helpful in getting cabs and directing us when asked. I’d go there again in a minute!"
