"Not sure why this is rated so highly on this site. The hotel is very dated and quite drab. You can hear the running water of neighbouring room taps. To get to the room you have to walk quite away including through a room which has piles of junk mounted up. One good point was that the breakfast was listed here as continental breakfast but also included options for cooked breakfast included."

"Lovely hotel, clean and modern. The only thing that lets this hotel down is the extra £15 for car parking. Don’t pay it - there are lots of local streets within 5 minute walk where you can park for free."

"The room was clean and a good size but the carpet needed renewing as it was in bad condition.The bed linen and towels were excellent and the twin beds were comfortable. Our room and our friends room were "shabby".Paint work etc. I complained about the fact that the bath water went cold before I had run very much.There was no soap to use in the bath.Only soap available was fixed to the shower wall and by the washbasin. I was woken up at 5.35am on the morning we were leaving with a text message from the hotel giving a link for the bill to be paid. Following my complaints I was given a small refund. The hotel needs money spending on it to bring it up to a good standard. Our dinner on Thursday night was good - no complaints about the food and the staff were all lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. Sadly Abbingdon was disappointing as there were quite a few closed shops and the remaining ones were not selling "quality" goods. Too many coffee shops ! "

"The hotel is very tired and needs updating, however it was clean, comfortable and the staff were lovely. The food was excellent even though it was only myself and my wife who ate in the dinning room whilst we were there. The hotel does takeaway food and there was a steady stream of cars coming in to pick up meals which is a testament to the quality. The position of the hotel was great for our needs. It is outside of Oxford but transport links are very good. We are in the process of looking for property in the area and we would have no worries about staying there again whilst we are looking, and will go back there to eat once we have found a place to move to."

"Lovely hotel. Warm welcome on arrival. Very clean hotel. Room was big, bed was super comfy and bathroom was lovely. Unfortunately we had water issues in our bathroom where the tap and shower had barely any water and couldn’t even flush the toilet. Staff were responsive but unfortunately we were in a rush for a wedding so did not have time to move rooms."

"Lovely stay at a genuine village pub, not a restaurant with rooms or a hotel with a bar, this is the real thing. Beautifully furnished rooms, amazing staff and service and fantastic atmosphere, and Blewbury is beautiful. The Ukrainian menu has to be tried! We loved also that the dog was as welcome as we were."
