I stayed again at the end of August & had an evening meal only this time there was a ‘service’ charge of 10% added. I challenged this only to be told “it is on the menu”. It was not ‘on the menu’. The charge was returned but why was it there to start with & nothing to alert you to what I was later told was a discretionary payment! The receptionist on each visit was fantastic. The restaurant...

"We stayed overnight ahead of the Kelpies half marathon and in terms of location it was excellent with a 15 min walk to the Kelpies and dedicated parking outside the hotel.
Facilities were pretty basic however the hotel and the room were clean and warm and for a one night stay it had everything required.
One window in our room was stuck open which wasn't a huge issue but I imagine when the weather gets colder, it could be a problem."

"One staff member stood out as she went above and beyond, just by being friendly and always greeted us with a smile!
Maggie was her name!
The other stuff just seemed to be there, just not as happy and bubbly !
As far as cleanliness and upkeep, all seemed in order.
Breakfast was quite nice, but needed a bit more selection."
