"Everything was fine, just one niggle, the bed was in need of a mattress topper as I could feel the mattress springs digging into my back! The facilities and spa treatments were excellent, and I’d like to return for another mini break. Great location, handy for city visits on foot, with nearby pubs and restaurants."

"Great hotel, clean, lovely communal areas and great bedroom. The music on entering the hotel was extremely loud due to a wedding party, so loud we couldn’t hear the member or staff on check in. Luckily this didn’t affect us as we were out all evening but had we planned to stay in the hotel, this would have been an issue "

"Cheap and well located for the area. Interesting historic building on the outside. Friendly staff. Tired and dated decor with a horrible smell in the stairway. Constant loud humming from bathroom. Harsh lighting in bedroom and bathroom with no bedside lamp and only 1 bedside table. Room very clean, though carpets looked stained around the edges."

"Great location right next to the station and an easy walk into the city centre. The ground floor has been nicely refurbished and makes a good first impression. Some investment has clearly gone into the rooms too (new taps etc.), but they don’t feel finished to the same standard. The bathroom in particular felt a little tired – the silicone around the shower was messy and old, the toilet didn’t flush easily, and the extractor fan was very loud. Overall a good stay in a great location, but the rooms could benefit from a bit more attention to detail."

"Noise first night people playing music next door. Moved rooms to a room with traffic noise outside which we didn't mind to much. "
