"Not recommended, honestly we almost slept in the car. The main issues started on attempting to check in. We arrived late (around 1am) but there was no-one at the hotel that we could see. We then called the 24/7 line around 10 times, most of these times we were hung up on/disconnected prior to getting information. When the night porter did arrive back (after around 1 hour of waiting) check in was relatively quick and then we walked over to the house (note check in is not necessarily at the place...

"Room was broken into . Door was not strong - split in half. How dod someone get through security door?
I expressed my concerns but no-one bothered to respond. I had asked what they had done about it. Did they even report to police.
Then later I locked myself out of room. There is no reception so was asked to go to another hotel to pick up a key. I spent £19 on Uber (return) and didn’t even have shoes, and it was raining.
Sheet didn’t fit mattress properly so kept coming off. Trains disturbed...

"Owner was very responsive in bringing iron and hair dryer for us to use. (Hair dryer was dirty and smelled of wet dog—bring your own!). I bit small and funky but served our purpose. It was clean and owner was responsive. Easy check in but a bit tricky finding the place at first. Nice location for day trips and hikes."
