"Love this hotel. Great for parking, staff very professional but engaging and genuine. Room very clean and plenty room. Our room was a garden room. If the weather had been kind to us we would have sat out on our patio. Gardens are well maintained and pretty. Bus stop nearby to get easily into Ambleside. Breakfast was good and plenty choice. Our stay was sooo nice booked again for this August. ❤️"

The only problems were 1. that the room we got was not the one we thought we’d booked. The photos on Expedia definitely showed a balcony on the ground floor which with elderly parents and a dog was why we chose it. "The hotel was beautiful, but the staff were so-so. We tried to get a light dinner (or "snacks" as they called it) but we could not get anyone to help us (despite being told where to order it) so we ended up going out to eat. The breakfast was pretty good though. The staff at the front desk were not very friendly but they weren't terrible. I would recommend this place because of its physical beauty, despite the less than optimal staff members."

Also, the hotel has spacious parking, and it is not too far from Windermere station, the lake, or many restaurants and shops. Each is about a 10-15-minute walk away.
