"The property and it's grounds were beautiful and the staff was great. Fo us we didn't want to stay in a place that was overwhelmed by tourists and this was great choice."

One of the most amazing hotels - unique and beautiful. The staff go beyond to make your stay pleasant, the rooms are incredible. Being able to sleep at the foot of a vulcano in the midst of an animal sanctuary is a dream. Only down side is the a la carte breakfast which considering it was more than $65 for three could have been improved.

We absolutely loved our time at Amalu Monteverde. We stayed in the Black Haus and it was superb. The view is stunning and the property is designed to make the most of it with wall to ceiling windows and a great sun deck. We really enjoyed the hot tub (not normally our thing) while the sun was setting and knew that this was one of those places we would never forget and for all the right reasons. The Blackhaus is really well designed with a small but useful kitchen area, a lovely bathroom with a...

Heart of Palm cooking class and tasting was superb.
I wish hotel had some king of "manual" for emergency cases. I was travelling with Diabetic child and had no idea how far/close was hospital etc.

The hotel was fantastic. Spotlessly clean. The free wildlife tour was excellent and we were lucky to see Armadillos. The pool and jacuzzi were lovely too. Would definitely recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay of two nights, the staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel is set in large gardens full of wild life as is the surrounding area. Great views from the dining/lounge areas and the dining arrangements afforded the opportunity of meeting fellow travelers. The road up to the lodge is rough but we only had a small 2WD car and by driving slowly had no problem, in fact this is an advantage as we saw many interesting birs on the way. A 4WD vehicle is a must to visit...

Absolutely amazing setting to this property. We felt like we were in the middle of the rainforest but with convenient access also to the pool & hot springs. The food was good too. Being so far out of town was not a problem without a car as all the tour services came to collect us from the hotel.

The most beautiful hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay at, gorgeous modern room with an awe inspiring view right at the foot of your bed.
The staff were so helpful and friendly, they could not have done anymore for us, they were absolute wonderful.
I cannot recommend this hotel enough!

The property is superb, the pictures doesn’t do it justice as we were expecting a standard stay but what we got was an amazing property, clean rooms and great AC, clean and friendly staff.
Great tasting breakfast and options (would have liked to have seen a bit more vegetarian options)
Was blown away by our stay here and location is 4/5 min drive from main road where all the restaurants and bars are

The room was spacious, perfect for two people. The bathroom was also big and cormfortable with a hairdryer. You're surrounded by nature and can see many bords from the balcony while having breakfast from your room. My only two criticisms are, first that the pillows available are too thick, second is that the wifi didn't always work properly in the evening.
