"Gorgeous mansion with helpful small staff"

"We stayed because of close proximity to presidio surgical center. Property is nice. Room is nice but a little bit unkept. The ac/heater very very loud. They serve complimentary tea and coffee. I was disappointed not to have some authentic tea rather than the usual teas found in hotels. Love that they have some parking right at the hotel."

"No carafe in the guest rooms. So, bring your own water bottle for refill. Refill stations only on 2 floors. No coffee or tea in rooms. Parking is best at the Japan Center. Pay more and park at the hotel but don't forget to book the parking at the time of reservation to avoid full lot on the day of arrival."

"I enjoyed my stay! The staff was kind and pleasant. The rooms were nice and maintained well. Caution: this is an old building as most of SF is, the walls are not thick. It’s is a good area to get quickly from one side of town to the next. The neighborhood is what most of SF is, experiencing homelessness so be cautious in the evening. Great food spots in the area. Over all, we enjoyed our stay!"

"Everything about our stay was great but the restaurant and bar were closed unfortunately. Luckily we had some champagne we brought but no glasses were able to be provided. If the restaurant or bar was open 10/10"

"A lot of the guests are facing permanent or temporary homelessness, which makes this uncomfortable mix if you are a tourist and don't want to get pulled into this kind of energy. Also bcs there are only a few people in each room, the other person's energy and issues impact you more so than if you were in a much larger dorm. My roommate stayed in the room all day 24/7, had taken up the whole wardrobe, chatted to me non-stop, asked for help with life issues, stayed up well past 1AM making noise,...

"The hotel itself was historic and well kept on the outside. It there was a little hidden to find on the street and there were a decent amount of people who passed on on the street. So beware that when trying to check in if you don't have someone to help with parking, the rooms were were solo stocked and well kept dust was in the bathroom that did grow concerns but overall everything was fine. The elevator is very cool and the staircase is narrow so be forewarned as it says in the description"

"Staff ok TV no good"

"This hotel seems to be a hidden gem. It was amazing. Lots of history in the place, it was like staying in a museum. You could spend a day just exploring the hotel. People were incredible, friendly, helpful, I felt like a friend and not just a guest. The room I had was well appointed, with the usual, things. TV, safe, desk chairs, large bed on the firmer side and very comfortable. The shower had no water saving mechanism that I could tell, felt full on pressure. I forgot what that was...

"The rooms are a little too dated. The room was very stuffy so we had to open Windows and there was no screens. There are not enough Outlets in the room. Also I am 5 ft 2 and it was very difficult for me to climb up into the bed. I know a lot of it has to do with the charm but some updates would make it more comfortable."
