"We stayed for one week, and honestly, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone considering it. I read the reviews before arriving and thought they might be exaggerated, but unfortunately they were not. The staff service was poor, there was mold in the bathroom, and we were even given the wrong room at first. The food was so bad that I actually got sick and couldn’t eat for two days. Making restaurant reservations on your own is almost impossible because the front desk is not helpful at all. Guests wake up as early as 4 a.m. to place towels and personal belongings on the pool chairs to reserve them, so good luck finding one later in the day. There is also only one pool bar with a single bartender. We ended up eating out for almost every meal. For us, this was a one-time experience—never again."

"This resort was absolutely amazing to us. My group and I are college students that went for our spring break in march. It’s the perfect mix of being able to cader to all age groups. There was a club upstairs every night that made the resort more hype for us, but during the day it was never over crowded and perfect for just tanning, drinking, music, and poolside games. The events like white party & casino night really diversified the resort as well with changing up what we could do. The best part was the way the resort was structured, having it built into the mountains made the terrain stunning, and looking over all of Cabo was so beautiful. The food also blew us away, never something too bland. One thing I will say is to look into what package you are purchasing, we got the VIP “gold wrist bands” unknowingly, but we’re thankful we did because the blue wristbands restricted a lot of alcohol options & the adult pool. But nonetheless I cannot wait to return to the Sandos resorts in the future!"

"I will never go back to any Solmar resort nor to Cabos. First we were “upgraded” to some mold smelling room at the back side of the resort, at the street side. Unacceptable, so we went back. Our original room was in renovation, so we got for one night another room and had to move the next day to yet another room. A bad start. Those two rooms were nice and large. About 30% of the place is in renovation. Extremely strict smoking rules, not even a corner in the resort you could smoke. Not allowed to swim in the ocean, which is one thing. But the moment you’re on the beach, close the water, they already come running and screaming after you and treat you disrespectfully like you’re a child. Moreover, no potable water in room, no bottles, nothing. We could buy a bottle for $9 USD every day. The resort and Cabos altogether is abusively expensive and it doesn’t feel Mexican at all (no mariachi, hardly any Mexicans, for 90% American tourists), way too American. The location however is beautiful and breathtaking! But I’ll never go back there. Mexico has so many better places to enjoy."

"Amazingly friendly, well trained, very helpful staff. Staff that dealt with visitors could speak English well enough to be helpful. Hotel was clean, nicely decorated - was showing its age in places but that happens any place. Did not take away from overall appearance. For Altitude Club members, reservations were easy to get, food at their restaurants was wonderful, very tasty (except beef - basically tough and chewy), presented beautifully, good menu choices (could also go to buffets - had many choices, food was ok but seemed to be always busy). For Altitude Club members, private pool and bar were not crowded, no kids, good variety of better alcohol (shortage of pool chairs, go at 6am to get shade!!) Overall, enjoyed our stay - would recommend to others - we are not likely to go back but that is because we like to try new places, in new area, for new experiences. "
