When we arrived the fridge was not turned on so we could not refrigerate anything for several hours, the doors were left closed so when opened the fridge smelled awful & very unhygienic. "In the city centre, so accessible and walkable to transit , restaurants and a Sainsbury right across the road. Unfortunate there was a heat wave and there was no AC so was uncomfortable trying to get some sleep , older building so you can hear lots of footsteps and talking in the hallway, otherwise its good enough for a one night stay."

"I rarely write a bad review. I have stayed in many Britannia Hotels & traveled widely in the 3rd world. I did not feel safe either in the room, or entering the hotel, witnessing a drug deal in the alley just feet from the front entrance with an open stairwell access to rooms. I am used to 'basic' accommodation. The room I booked was not cheap but had NO ventilation (in UK you dont expect A/C ). Consequently with no window it was very hot, dark and stuffy. "Competitively priced, basic hotel very handy for Terminal 2 at MAN (5 minute walk). Clean, quiet and convenient. Room is compact, with comfortable bed, shower essentials and kettle with tea and coffee. Great value and will stay again."
