"The Perestrello has recently been refurbished and our room on the 2nd floor of the annex was lovely. The bed was comfy, the room had plenty of storage/hanging space, a good size safe, small refrigerator and quiet air conditioning. The bathroom was spotless with a walk in rain fall shower. "I stayed at this hotel from Monday to Sunday. The breakfast offered both hot and cold items, along with fruit and pastries, though the selection became repetitive after several days. The WiFi was also quite slow throughout my stay.The day before check‑out, I noticed several bite‑like marks on my skin. I reported this to the front desk and was told there were no available rooms to move to, but they could change the linens. "Hotel is in very good location and has a parking garage. The parking is paid per day but the nearby parking is very limited or the same price, so it's worth it. The furniture is older but in good condition. I did not like the breakfast options, there are fruits, eggs, ham, sausages, some fresh juices but no vegetables. Excellent fruits though. "

"Excellent location in old Funchal. Very close to Harbor front and to museums, shops, services. Although there are no staff on site, check in was smooth, and we felt secure with the locked doors we had to go through to keep residents safe. For the most part, we had timely responses to queries to staff if we had questions hotel/room/airport transportation as needed. "
