The location of the Elixir Hotel is really hard to match. It is right in the heart of the 2nd Arr, steps from Notre Dame and the Louvre. Easy access to the Metro and walkable to the left bank. There is a lovely bakery just on the corner, and you are 2 blocks from the Seine. The rooms are well designed. We had a pair of rooms that shared a vestibule, one for us, and one for our two teenage daughters. It was a perfect arrangement to give privacy while still being connected. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to be right in the heart of Paris. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.
I would rate my overall experience a 2/5. The blonde woman at the front desk was cold and off-putting from the moment we walked into the hotel for check in; she looked at us like we were aliens, although the other staff members were fine. We stayed on the fifth floor, and the hallway was pretty rundown with a very large water bubble drooping low from the ceiling right near the elevator. The worst part of my stay was finding yellow stains on our bedsheets, which looked like either urine or coffee. The cleaners had put a tight sheet over the stains to cover them, but we noticed them anyway — be wary!! We brought it up to a staff member who said he would inform the cleaners. Overall, the experience just felt off, and I wouldn’t recommend.
The staff at Hôtel Elixir were great! All of the staff we encountered spoke fluent English and were very accommodating. The concierge recommended several places for dinner when we arrived and ordered us a large taxi when we left. The hotel is only about four or five blocks from Notre Dame de Paris and the Seine. Excellent Bistros, cafes, bakeries, and shopping surround the hotel. Will definitely stay at this hotel the next time we’re in Paris.
Great hotel to stay in that’s not in Paris Downtown or close to all the main things but really i was able to take metro by just walking half block. Around there’s a lot of shops, places to eat and drink and several monuments and main places in Paris with a 15-20min walking
Excellent location: walking distance to Notre Dame, The Louvre, Ste Chapelle. Very close to shops, cafes and restaurants of different cuisines. Couple of blocks to River Seine & the Metro. Staff was helpful & accommodating (stored our luggage while we went to Lourdes for a day). Bed & pillows were soft & comfortable. Coffee, tea, hot water pot in the room & the toiletries of wonderful scent. The room & bathroom were a a bit tight for hubby & me, not a deal breaker as understandably real estate in Paris is expensive. The location was more important for us; very convenient to most all.
