The room was clean and modern and the AC was great. The location was also perfect for a first time visit to Paris. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. It just wasn’t as baby friendly as we’d anticipated (mostly the building itself).

The perfect hotel

I’ve been staying at this hotel since 2019 and it feels like my home in Paris. Small hotel, very comfortable, perfect location, great staff.

Overall, a great hotel. The rooms are a little small, but none issue for my wife and I. The hotel is close to everything you would want to see in Paris. Of course, the food in the area was very good, including the breakfast buffet at the hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

This hotel was a sight for sore eyes on our last day in Paris. We had stayed on the other side of the river our first few days, then traveled around and spent our last evening in France back in Paris. This hotel is in a perfect location, clean, quiet, FANTASTIC AC, clean room with nice amenities, and very helpful and kind staff. I would stay here again if I came back to Paris. It seems like it would be loud since it feels like it’s in a busy-ish area, but it was quiet and felt very safe with a 24/7 secure entry.

My favorite hotel in Paris

This hotel is incredible, a small gem in my favorite area in Paris, just steps from the Palais Garnier. It is my no. 1 choice in Paris. The rooms are small but extremely comfortable, the staff is very attentive and it is a small hotel, just like I prefer.

Desk staff were wonderful. The hotel’s up to date with outstanding air conditioning. Layout is a little confusing at first (e.g. there are two staircases) but single elevator gets you to all floors. Area is great for shopping (stores are by the nearby opera) and the area has all sitters of very good restaurants.

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was quiet, albeit rather small. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Its central location made it easy to explore the city on foot. The only downside was the rather limited breakfast options. Overall, a good choice for a stay in the city center.

Brilliant location but I paid for a deluxe double room and it was really small. No view out of window (looked out to a concrete wall) and the room was very dark.

I've been staying at Hotel Chess every year since 2019 and I love this place. It feels like my home away from home now. The room is very comfortable with all the important amenities (if you are lucky, you can get a lovely view to the Apollo statue on top of the Opéra) . It's a small hotel, so it feels cozy and familiar. The staff is absolutely amazing and they always remember me when I arrive, making my stay very special. The location is unbeatable in my opinion, just a couple of blocks from the Opéra Garnier, with plenty of options to shop, dine and public transportation. At the same time, it feels like a oasis because the street is very calm. See you again in 2026!
